nursery roomDecorating the nursery can often leave parents confused. With so much information available, parents might become overwhelmed with decorating details. Fortunately, the easiest way to decorate a baby’s room is working around a theme and creating something cute, lovable and interesting in the space.

Theme on the Walls:

Walls are an important part of creating the theme of the room. Fortunately, nursery decals are readily available to help incorporate the theme throughout the room without the use of complicated stencil sets or trying to create a mural.

The easiest way to get the theme onto the walls after painting the preferred color is with nursery wall stickers. The stickers go onto the wall easily, are simple to remove as the baby outgrows the theme and take only a few minutes to add around the room.

Another benefit of the nursery wall decals is the lack of dangerous fumes. Creating a mural might not always be possible with safe paints and might require the use of paint that produces toxic fumes. A pregnant mother or newborn baby should never be in that situation and the stickers prevent that occurrence. Read the rest of this entry »

April 15th, 2011 >> Baby

Your baby’s first steps are very important in its development. For you it’s certainly a moment never to forget. First steps are shaky and uncertain, but by the time your little went to school, he will jump and run like the best!

First Steps

It is impossible to predict when your baby will put his first steps. There are babies all around the room shuffling when barely ten months old. But there are also babies that will only eighteen months to walk. Research has shown that the average child’s first steps when he was between thirteen and fifteen months old.

The moment your child learns to walk is in part genetically determined, but is also related to height and weight, diet and whether or not your child is a good lackey. A child that is not crawling, may run much earlier than a child on hands and feet well to save. The age of your child’s first steps, says nothing about his intelligence.

Acceleration

If your baby begins to pull up, it probably does not take long before he will find room. Soon he will move himself from the table to the chair and then to the door. So make sure that the child is in safe room. The average age at which a baby can pull is nine months and more, although not all children master the trick as they are one year.

Help in learning to walk

It is very important that your baby can develop at their own pace without you rush him. Try not to let your baby walk if he does not want it by itself. The probability that he will be scared and uncertain is quite large and may slow its development.

But you can do a little helping hand. Make sure he can practice in a room where he is not slipping or tripping on rugs on slippery floors. Make sure the furniture is strong enough so he can pull out the furniture and so close together that your child safe from one hold to another can shuffle.

Once your child can pull itself away from furniture and furniture to move you can give him a helping hand by giving it a good cart that it can continue to push.

His first shoes

Best for your kid is to start walking on his bare feet. At his first steps he uses his toes to steady himself and seek to grasp. If you prefer your child a pair of socks with non-slip soles attract prevent it slipping.

Shoes are only needed if your child really will run out. They must be new shoes, choosen with a good fit. Too small shoes, just like socks too small, can cause all sorts of foot problems. Good shoes are also important for the attitude of your child.

Falls

If your child is just learning to walk, he is probably bad at it. He will lost control of his legs, tripping over his own feet, thrust his head. Although you might be worried about this, it is important to remain calm. If you fall in any panic reaction, your baby will be just as nervous as you. This may cause him to be careful, what can hinder development. If you keep calm, you just get up and little more practice.
